The Venue

The place we chose for our wedding is one that represents us and what we love. The Queens County Farm Museum is the oldest farm in the New York City area and dates back to 1697. With a combination of history, animals, sustainability and a taste of New York, we knew the farm would be perfect for us!

On the farm there is 47 acres of land that houses historic farm buildings, a greenhouse complex, a windmill, planting fields, a vineyard, an orchard and an herb garden. The livestock includes chickens, ducks, cows, pigs, goats, sheep and gorgeous peacocks that wander the area. It is surely a playground for all things beautiful, natural and fresh.

We love how it creates a unique world that seems far away from reality. One minute you're in Queens and the next, you're swept through time to the 17th century. How awesome! Since Danny and I both love animals and all things vintage, there was no questioning the adoration we felt for the farm and all the living creatures that lived there.

The piggies are my favorite! Their black spots give them so much character and they are so sweet. Each time I visited the farm they gave me kisses. The most recent time, they went a little nuts and tried head butting the gate open! I just figured they wanted to play. Gotta love those piggies.

We can't wait for all our friends and family to experience the farm for themselves. Only then will they understand why we chose it for our special day. It will truly be a great way to start our future together!
