From the first time we spoke to the first time we met, our journey has been fun, unique, exciting and interesting to say the least. Olive seemed to love Danny from the start as well. Having tons of things in common and both being artists, we were very happy to have found each other.
It was a big step when Danny moved into my Bethpage apartment but it was all smooth sailing and good times. We make very good roommates! Our move to West Babylon July 2010 was a crazy 2 week process which was stressful and tiring but also exciting. It was officially our first place together! We have to say, living there has been great. Designing the new place was surely tons of fun as well.
Our travels throughout our relationship has brought us to Atlanta, Maine, Staten Island, Jersey, Tarrytown, Buffalo, Watkins Glen and Connecticut with hopes of seeing more of the world in the future. Since music is something we both love, our concert list has grown bigger among the years as well. Money has always seemed to keep our explorations at bay but with our heads high and fingers crossed, we are positive the days ahead will bring us success, happiness and good fortune.
Some exciting opportunities have come our way since we met in the summer of 2008. New doors have opened and provided a variety of paths for us to take both together and individually.
I acquired a writing position at Patch.com and had several columns pertaining to healthy living and DIY design. This helped me launch my writing career which was an unexpected turn of events. I still freelance and have steady clients but writing is truly a passion of mine I am very happy to explore it. Today I am working alongside color expert Kate Smith as well as the design books for Petite Picasso.
How can I forget about going veg in November 2009! My life has been so much richer now that I don't consume animals. I have taken the steps to change what I can about the food industry in this country and am very proud to be a part of such a positive lifestyle and empowering movement. Danny, Olive and myself all thrive on a plant based diet and couldn't be happier. This is what inspired me to create Revolt.
One of my most exciting accomplishments was making it into Vegetarian Times. The magazine published my Black Eyed Pea Cake & Confetti Corn recipe in their 2011 April/May issue! You can imagine how excited I was to see my creation in one of the best vegetarian mags out there. This was truly a highlight of the year.
Danny is still working at IMS Pro A/V out east. His band Thracian recorded and released its first cd, Blight, which people seemed to really love! They are currently recording their second album as well. I must say I am very proud. Having been in a band for 4 years when I was younger, I understand how it feels to accomplish something like that. Danny has also been accepted to write for Heavy Blog is Heavy and contributes a review a week on metal bands and music. This is what he truly loves to do!
Life has been very busy the last year. With planning a wedding and buying a house, it has surely been a whirlwind over here. But every day is a new day and we look forward to see what comes our way. Now that we are engaged, our hopes for the future only brings happiness. Our love has brought us here for a reason and we will embrace it every moment of every day.
